Title: Feedback after your interview - can u get it?
Post by hamea on Aug 9th, 2006, 2:39pm
This is a follow up to my previous post "Period between July and November."

Is there a way to get feedback from the people you interview with to see why you are rejected?  That will at least help the candidates figure out if its their interview skills that need work or their credentials.  I know that interviewers dont want to give feedback because they are afraid of being sued but there must be someone out there who may be willing to give constructive criticism.

I have had numerous second round interviews and have been rejected after all of them.  But I always get a second round after my 1st round.  So I am completely confused about whats going wrong.

I don't think there is anything wrong with calling the person you interviewed with and asking them why you got dinged, so long as you do it in a respectful way.

While there is nothing wrong with calling and asking, an interviewer who gives out anything but the most bland, non-commital answer such as the type found in a typical rejection letter is setting his firm up for trouble.
