To Whom It May Concern,

I am a third year law student planning on taking the PBar exam this semester.  Unfortunately, I have no IP Law experience.  I am desperate to obtain experience in this field.  I am not looking for a paid internship - anything would help.  If you have anything available please contact me.  It would mean so much.

Regards,
Sana

Sana,

You aren't going to get anywhere unless you tell us some details.

Are you interested in patent experience? or copyright/trademark experience? If patent experience:

do you want experience in prosecution? or litigation?
what is your technical field?

Finally, what city are you in?

I guess I don't understand the objective of this post.  Are you asking for a job on this board?  If so, you should probably include more information, such as how to contact you.  If not, are you just asking for comments on a letter that you may send out to local employers?  If so, then I would suggest that you emphasize your interest in intellectual property law, as demonstrated by the fact that you plan on taking the Patent Bar Exam this semester or classes taken during law school.  I would also include a description of your educational and work experience.  And I wouldn't use phrases such as "desperate" or "no IP law experience."  Focus on the positive, de-emphasize the negative.
