I would like someone to help me answer this question. "Whether a Canadian Citizen (not residing in US) can appear for examination meant for US patent agent registration ?? ". There has been discussion in this forum on it but as I understand the information has an element of "not sure".
To my undersatnding, for Canadian patent agent Examination , one needs one year practice experinece with a patent lawyer. On the other hand , in US , experience is not a requirement for the examination. Thus there is distinct advantage for Canadian to appear for US exam.
One situation (as it applies to me) , I live in the niagara region on the Canadian side. If (??) I am allowed to appear and pass US patent agent exam.,  I could paractice in US without even residing in US (with legal working status like TN visa).
The rules state that only residents can paractice as patent agent in US . (Or Canadian who are already registered patent agent in Canada ).
Please help if someone familiar with this issue or situation.
