Best place to live near patent office?

Hi all,

I will be moving to work at the patent office as an examiner sometime this summer, and am not too familiar with the area.  Does anyone have any advice on which apartments to look into?  Just to give you an idea, I would prefer a studio or one bedroom where it is a close, safe walking distance to the office or a metro station.  Thanks a million!

The two closest are the "Avalon at Cameron Court" and the "Carlyle Towers". You get more for your money at the Avalon but it's 3/4 of a mile and the Carlyle is 2 blocks. Both are within 1/2 a mile of a metro station. You also might want to check out www.realtor.net for some decent rental homes near by. Look for stuff in "Old Town Alexandria" east of the Patent Office.
