I am in my 2nd year part time at a 2nd Tier Law School with a GPA above 3.5.  I have spent the last 10 years in the automation industry and I am currently working in research and development for a large electronics company.  I passed the patent bar in December and I would like to gain experience prosecuting patent applications.  While I am named as an inventor on patents for my current job, I am not involved with any of the patent prosecution.  My plan is to go into patent litigation when I graduate from law school in 2008.  What are my chances of getting a position as a patent agent at a big firm?  Also, what do firms pay patent agents who are in law school?  I am currently residing in Chicago.
