Patent Agent-Just starting out

Hello,
I will be finishing my PhD in chemistry within the next month, I have a BS in chemical engineering, and I passed the patent bar exam last year. I will be starting law school either in August of 2004 or August of 2005 if I can get my admission deferred for one year.

I'm hoping to get a job as a patent agent to get some experience and save some money before law school and I have a couple of interviews lined up. My question is what sort of salary should I expect given my educational background and lack of experience? I want to go into the negotiation with realistic expectations. If it helps, I am in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.

Also, any other advice for someone in my situation would be welcomed.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi jennifer,

I hope you have found a good job.  I notice your post that says that you are living in same area that I am.  I am trying to take the patent exam.  My question is how did you studied and do you have any advice.

thanks,
sanjeev
