Title: Becoming a Patent Agent
Post by danpass on Mar 12th, 2007, 11:07am
Ok, so I have the degree (BS Mech E) and I just have to pass the Patent Bar.

Is that it?

What kind of opportunities in Miami for a Patent 'Agent'?  I have about 7yrs experience as an automotive engineer and have been out of engineering for about 4yrs.

monster<dot>com was not very helpful.

thanks,
Dan

Almost.  You still have to be finally registered after 45 days of posting your name to the public for potential comments re moral fitness.

Dan - Check out http://www.nalpdirectory.com/

You can search there for more information on law firms and specifically target the Miami area.  After getting your reg. no., start sending those resumes.

Danpass:
I'd like to know if you got a job. I passed in September 2006 and got the reg # in November. Been passing out resumes but with absolutely no bites. Even got turned down for a patent paralegal job!

Approximately how long does it usually take for the PTO to respond to an application to take the patent bar exam?  Assuming the individual fits into the A category.  Thank you.
