I applied to take the exam on April 1st; how long does it take to process the application? Once your name is posted in the OG can you go ahead and register at Prometric?

That seems like a long time. I applied catagory B, where they had to analyze not only my transcripts but the course descriptions, and i don't think it took that long.

You're going to need an ID # from your acceptance letter to register with Prometric. My suggestion is that you give the OED a call and ask them about the status of your app.

OED quotes 5 weeks, but usually takes less time. Got my response back within two weeks. My record was straightforward Cat A. Don't know what you mean by posted in the GO. You need to wait for an official letter from OED. It has your ID number which you need for registration. The letter also states the valid dates in which you can take the exam.

Also, did you include a reply card to verify that they got your application? Definitely call.

I applied under Cat B and it took 3 weeks.

I applied under Cat B, Option 4, and I was approved 6 days after my reply card was stamped (mailed the day before Thanksgiving). Total round trip time was 9-10 days. I expected 3-6 weeks so I could take it over spring break, but that was so fast the first Monday of Break was day 90!

Your name will not appear in the official gazette (OG) for comment, as far as i know, until you actually pass the exam. At that time, the OED will complete your review.
