Yep....another science guy trying to make the move

Hi everyone,
I received my doctorate in Biology from Duke 2 years ago, and have had some postdoc and teaching experience since.  I've decided to move away from an academic career, and become interested in IP law.  I am hoping to find a position in a firm, most likely as a technology specialist while I get a better foundation in the field.
The problem is one of geographic limitation.  Due to family reasons, I'm limited to looking in the Boston area.  In searching, I've only found a few firms with publicized "tech specialist" positions.  At the risk of sounding stupid (or even worse, lazy) is there a resource that I'm not finding that lists all the firms in boston specializing in IP, and then those that may be interested in hiring tech specialists/ science advisors/ etc?  I know Boston is supposed to be a bit of a hub, and I have a feeling I'm not finding the firms.
Any help, and/or tips, and/or advice, and/or encouragement you could provide aside from firms would also be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your time.  Best to eveyone.

ahhhh.... or instead of doing a search for boston IP I could do a search for "searching for IP firms" and find a thread 5 rows down.... don't I feel lame?

Anyhow, lets assume that I'm already doing the martindale search, etc.  If anyone has any anecdotal information or tips specific to the Boston area, I'd still love to hear it.  Sorry to bog down the threads!

I know one firm that does it is Wolf Greenfield.  A friend of mine worked there after getting a phd.
To give you an edge over the many phd people looking for tech specialist spots, you might want to consider taking the patent bar before applying to show that you are serious about the jump...not just testing the waters.
