Deciding if Patent Law is right for me

I have a BS Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and have been doing consulting work for about a year after I graduated.  I know consulting is not what I want to do and have always been interested in law.  My technical background led me to patent law.  I enjoy the technical aspects of my consulting job and have got good experience working with manufacturing, IT, and agricultural clients.

One thing I am worried about is getting my foot in the door in patent law if I decide to go to law school.  I know an Industrial Engineering degree isnít exactly what IP firms are looking for.  I know itís impossible to say right now, but about how difficult would it be into patient law with an IE degree?  I took a practice LSAT and got a 160, I think if I do a little prep work I can improve that a lot and get in to a top 25 school.

Not worth it.  Industrial engineering is ok.   160 is average.  Need to be 165-70 to get into a top school.  That also depends on your gpa.
