What to do... What to do...

I'll be graduating in the near future (~6 months) with a PhD in Immunology/Microbiology from a top 25 school in US. I've decided that basic research just isn't for me. I'd really like to try my luck elsewhere... more specifically patent law. Besides preping myself for the patent bar exam, what else should I be doing in the meantime to help increase my prospects of becoming a successful patent agent/attorney? I know this had been posted previously, but I was wondering what other "newbies" thought on job prospect for biological PhD graduates in patent law. Thanks.
