Becoming Patent attorney..what now

Hi ,
I am an Irish guy in Canada doing a research internship in McMaster.
I was due to partly finish off my chemistry degree ( Trinity College , Dublin , Ireland). The only problem is that I have received my exam results and I now must withdraw from university ie. with no qualifiactions?
I am guessing this is the end of the possibility of becoming a patent attorney?
