| Some positions may become open if somebody quits etc. I'm a physics BS too and the physics/optics hiring contact told me they don't have class openings until September.

| Ughhh, that means I'm sh*t out of luck for 8 months. I guess in the meantime I'll find some work and re-apply in August. I'm pretty sure a decent number of people applied for the physics area and I sent my application pretty late in the year (December 2007).
