Quick dumb question - can multiple articles in the same issue of the same journal count as a single reference?

Not a dumb question.

The answer is that multiple articles in a journal might count as a single reference, but unless the reference discloses the claimed combination, the fact that the pieces of an invention are between the pair of covers of a single reference does not make the reference anticipatory.
