Appreciate the heads up. I personally believe that the USPTO should simply modify the system. Get rid of the two year time frame for keeping documents on file, up the price of disclosures a slight bit, and perhaps combine the system with the provisional patent system. Ideally, either through their own staff or a commercially invested third party, classify disclosures and make them searchable. Perhaps using existing patent classifications. As "defensive disclosure" becomes more popular, it'd be nice (IMO) to have a database of defensive disclosures which is widely recognized as "de facto." I beleive IP.com is currently the most recognized provider of defensive dislosures, but some competition exists and future competition can't necessarily be avoided.
