"Patent It Yourself" by Pressman, published by Nolo. Or, hire an attorney. In my experience, if one cannot afford a qualified patent practitioner to prepare and prosecute the patent application, they do not have sufficient funds to market their product. Another issue is protecting your rights once they've been secured. Litigation is hugely expensive. Good Luck!
