Grandpa has an invention

My grandpa has a great invention. He has worked as
a tool and die man for 40 years. He has given a few of his ideas to his former compamy ( Featherlite ) but he was not paid to come up with these ideas.
To make a long story short grandpa's idea was and still is the biggest product his former company makes. (just to tell you he not only came up with the idea but he made a proto type to convince them ) his take was a small promotion and they got over the years a few miliion dollares in sales. Anyway he is always doing something and has many great ideas, there is one he is really high on but thinks he is to old to start over again. He has built a proto type that looks great but is not as polished as it could be. I will tell you it could be sold in Home Depot and other large box stores. Every home should have one. What does he do. I want to help him becasue he is so dedicated to what he does and has been for so so long. ( don't let his age concern you ) Anyway, any thoughts would help. What does he do, where do you take such an idea.

PS:

Sorry for the long message but I wanted to say all I could to help him.

Thanks

ddearing,

I had intended to respond earlier.  The question you pose (and the name of this particular forum) represents a fairly common question:  Where do I start?  I've been working on a FAQ for that particular question, and, since it's not getting any better over time, I decided to go ahead and publish it.  Here it is:

I hope it's helpful.

Regards.
