I inadvertently discovered a little work-around for the very slow posting (anyone else experiencing that?).  Click "Post" then, after a second or so, click somewhere else to navigate away.  For example, I'll click "Post" and then, after a second or two, I'll click "Suggestion/Comments ..." above.  I immediately go to that topic list and see my post.

We want to upgrade to phpBB.  It is currently in Beta.  Once it is gone final we will try to upgrade to it at that time.  
 
The suggestions are appreciated but we do not want to keep the changes to a minimum at this time.
 
That said, we changed the software so that things are faster.  The downside is that the list of recent posts on the front page of the website will not be updated as often.
