Dear Admin,

There needs to be a list of facts about how to become a patent agent and attorney.  That would address just about every post I have read lately!  And please add something about PhDs in biomedical sciences versus everything else.  Let me know if you want me to start compiling something...am glad to try to help.

PiP - The basic source of information on how to become a registered patent agent or attorney is on the USPTO web site.  And if an individual has questions regarding their qualifications, that person can contact the USPTO.  Despite that, as you note, this is the subject of many questions.  If someone who is seriously interested in becoming a patent practitioner can't be bothered to get the information from the USPTO, why do think they would go to a list of facts on this web site?

There's also this topic:
http://www.intelproplaw.com/Forum/Forum.cgi?board=patent_agents

I think that's the place in these forums where people currently discuss that particular topic.

I think his idea has merit. It seems this is a 1st source destination, usually thru a web search, for many a person looking to explore their options. Paging thru multiple threads of the same, non-cumulative info can be tedious.

However, the following link provides much of the relevant info:

I think there is some merit in having information relating to patent law careers.  IMO questions concerning career paths for life sciences are getting relatively low quality answers if they receive answers at all.
