Title: Copyright Infringement-Please HELP ASAP!
Post by Carolina Zhen on Jul 18th, 2005, 5:27am
I have two questions which I need an answer to ASAP. If anyone could answer this question for me, I would appreciate it a lot.

1. If the copyright or copyright symbol is NOT displayed and I decide to use the "non-copyrighted" material and it happens to be copywritten, am I liable?

2. If I use a copyrighted material accrediting the author using their logo, is that infringement?

Please, if anyone knows anything or doesn't understand the question, please don't hesitate to contact me at the email above. Thank you so much.

1.  Just because something doesn't have a (c) notice doesn't mean it's free for all to use.  So if you use something without a notice and it ends up being copyrighted, most likely you'll have to deal with the consequences...

2.  Accrediting the author is not the point.  Permission is.  In general, if you want to use something under copyright, ask permission...
