copying owners manual

When a manufactuer makes a copyrighted owners manual available to you for free by email or a free download from their website, can you copy these and sell them or give them away for free? I know of several companys making copies and reselling them. I specialize in this product and would like to make copies to resell and give away. The newer manuals are available in printed manual form them, but the older manuals are not.
