Hi,

What do i need to do if let's say i use some vintage WWII newsreels and make a dvd out of it on my own?

Do I have to get permission from the person(s) that holds the copyrights to these newsreels? and do they usually ask for a percentage of your sales?

How does it work?

SOmeone help me, im new

Is anybody going to help this person out. The question sounds interesting?

I don't know the specifics, but you do have to negotiate with the copyright holder.  The copyright holder may want a percentage, a fixed fee or both.

Nino:

Do you see any copyright notices on the newsreels?  i.e., are there credits at the end of the reels?  From where did you acquire the reels?  Do you know who the owner/author is?
