Hello,

I'm not sure where to ask this question. So if I'm in the wrong place please let me know what site might be of help.

I would like to know if there will be a problem for me if I copy content from a magazine and add it to my website. Meaning, if the magazine has an article on a product or tip and I copy the content of that article onto my website, would this be a problem?

Also If this is wrong, would putting the author's name or writing the magazine it came from, make it ok?

I understand for the most part, you need to get the approval from whom ever made it, but would the above idea's make it ok or is there another way?

Copying of material from a magazine article is copyright infringement unless excused by some exception such as fair use.

If the copying is infringement, providing an attribution to the real author does not help a bit with infringement although it does address plagiarism. Unfortunately its copyright infringement and not plagiarism that is likely to cause legal problems.
