old pattern reused

I have an old box that has very ornate buttons and knobs on it, and it was produced by a famous company between 1910 and 1920. After this time they stopped producing the buttons and knobs.

When my box was damaged I search for a replacement for the 1920's buttons but could find none, but on the search I found these boxes very collectable and that the buttons were highly sort after.

I have found a couple of local incravers to make my replacement buttons and considering making reproduction buttons to sell to collectors.

Is the pattern under copyright do you think? How can I find out if it is? Can I legally make money from repro's ? if the design is no longer under any copyright law could I manufacture them for other boxes or furniture? Could I actually copyright this design myself if it is not used??

Thankyou very much for any help, advice or suggestions
