photo copyright law

I purchase many items from a company to sell on ebay. I have used their photos from thier website that are copyrighted and have cut of the copyrighted text from the picture before using. I have also used thier text relating to the items from their catalog or website. How can I use the photos without breaking any laws. Can I add a background or border and be OK? Can I change the order  of the text and be OK? My alternative is to open the product boxes, assemble the item and photograph myself. Then I need to disassemble the item to re-package for shipment. Please inform me as to the options I might have in at least using the pictures. Thank you for your time.  Huh

My opinion is that copying pictures from a web site and using
them to advertise your sale constitutes copyright infringement.
I won't speculate on the likelihood of being sued, but at a
minimum you've provided a handle for a company who would like
to get Ebay to interrupt your sale.  Since I don't know what
items you are talking about I cannot really speculate on the
likelihood of that happening either.
