Intellectual Property Ownership of Resumes

My company recently asked me to build my resume with contract specific information as well as past experience (with other companies) in their corporate resume template.
They note that the resume built is their intellectual property, which I understand for under-cutting reasons.
My worry is their claim of information about contract specific experience while employed by my company, AND previous experiences that predate my current employment.
If I leave this company, do they own the content of that resume (sans formatting / template)?  How can I reuse this personal information without getting sued?

If I understand the question, the information in your resume, namely who you worked for, when, and what you did, is not your company's property, and you are free to use that information for future resumes.
It would be safest, although not strictly necessary, I imagine, to re-write the descriptions and re-format the resume when you use it in the future.
I hope that answers the question.
