Audio Parody Question

I have read some articles about fair use and it sounds like what I want to do might apply, but I would appreciate any input that any of you may have.

I create humorous audio recordings by editing political speeches to make the politicians say things they obviously never really said.  I get the audio from news websites, and television broadcasts.

My question is, if I wanted to start selling my creations, would I be protected by fair use?  I do plan on meeting with an intellectual property attorney before going forward with this, but I just wanted to see if the idea is a possibility.

Thanks

Dear
Chad Lare,

My off the cuff, unresearched feeling is that it can be done.
