I was told that after the exam, I would either receive a "provisional" pass or a fail (along with how many questions I got correct). I understand the passing requirement of 70%, however, with 10 questions being beta questions, one would only need to get 63 questions correct out of 90 questions. The question: for example, if after finishing the exam, I have 65 questions correct (prior to removal of beta questions), would the computer tell me that I fail or "provisionally" pass? In other words, would it tell me that I "provisionally" pass, then after removing the beta questions (and assuming I still have 65 questions correct), the PTO will inform me that I pass? Or must I have at least 70 questions correct (prior to removal of beta questions) in order to get a "provisional" pass? I suppose it boils down to the question of how reliable is a "provisional" pass and what it really means. I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you.

A provisional pass means there is about about a 99.9999% (give or take a few nines) chance you passed.

| Plan your retaking strategy. You did not pass.
