BOCCONI UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES THE FIRST TRANSATLANTIC IP SUMMER ACADEMY
Milan, June 25 - July 13, 2007

Bocconi University in Milan is pleased to announce the first Transatlantic
Intellectual Property Summer Academy. Considering the growing role and
importance of Intellectual Property in European knowledge-based economies, this
three weeks course will focus on inter-disciplinary IP, including IP law, IP
economics, IP business and IP operational practicalities at an international
level.

Thanks to lectures held by leading IP scholars and researchers from 10
countries in Europe and from the USA, participants will have a broad
perspective on main IP issues, especially at an international and comparative
level.
The horizontal and dynamic teaching system will give participants the
opportunity to embrace all aspects of IP in real life by involving case and
example studies, practical exercises as well as direct contact with IP
operators.

The course is in English and is a residential program organized by Bocconi
University in cooperation with the European Patent Office (EPO) and twelve
influential Italian, European and American Universities.

Upon completion of the program, each participant will be fully familiar with
the following:
- the importance of IP and in particular patents for business operators,
- research centers and the European and transatlantic economy in general
the legal and practical functioning and prospects of the patent system and of
IPRs, with focus on Europe and international issues
