: : IS AN INVENTION COVERED UNDER A COPYWRIGHT, IF SO HOW? : I have an invention I want to copywright, how do I copywright it, send myself and stamped envelope?????? help : thanks, Tracy Keane Copyright give no protection to an invention. If you use or disclose the invention before the first patent application is filed all foreign rights are invalidated. Mailing the disclosure to yourself may not work either. A written confidential disclosure may work. Disclosure to a patent lawyer is a good start. Not every good idea is patentable and not every patent is going to make money. Patents are expensive. There is a 100M a year scam inducing inventors to file patent applications. Even patents obtained using a legitimate patent lawyer may not make money. I recomend a Reality Check. The Reality Check shows you what you can do what you can't do, what you can do with a patent, without a patent and how to promote the invention yourself without having to pay a percentage to the promoter.
