copyright, public domain and Dickens[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Bob on September 16, 2003 at 13:36:26: Hi: I am researching how the Dickens story A Christmas Carol can be used in other pieces of writing. In particular, I am writing a script for web-based training, and I am using the scenario of what Scrooge does the day after Christmas. Characters referred to are Scrooge, his nephew, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim. I think that since the story is in the public domain, I can use the characters and build on the plot. Is this correct?
