: I've made several "mind files" for a few chat bots (Artificial Intelligence programs) available for download from our site. The bots learn from conversations you have with them and store the data in mind files for future reference of how words are used, patterened, etc. My intent was for people to use them on their computer as an option to using the files that come with the bots. I have several different themed files and most people who use the bots download my files.
: Twice now I've found that my files have been used by other people to put up as their own on their sites for download. The current situation consists of all my files being combined into one large file and no credit given as to where the files used to make them have come from. (Different combinations of my files are already available for download from my site.) One person even attempted to submit my own files to me as his to make available for download on my site. I suspect that I may be dealing with a sister of this person now.
: The bots are freeware so I don't charge for my files. The thought of paying to have them copyrighted hadn't occured to me and may or may not be worth it since I give them away. However, considerable work goes into each file in an attempt to teach it language skills in hopes of them being able to carry on a senseable conversation.
: It appears that the Yahoo/GeoCities TOS is in violation by the person posting my files for download on their site without my permission or credit given as to the author. I've notified the responsible person by e-mail to remove them but it will be a few days before they are available to get my message.
: Thank you,
