I recenty did a search for my company name to see if my website pulled up. It did, but it pulled up a few others as well. I clicked on one of the others and low and behold, they are in the same state as me. The also have SCE Associates Inc. all over thier website. My question is, if I legally registered the name with my local government office, back in 2001, what are my options to get them to remove the SCE Associates from theirs? Am I in the right? Do I have any other options. They do not sell or deal in any of the services that I sell or perform. : Dear Mr. Polk, : The question of your rights will not be solved in a paragraph or two. : M. Arthur Auslander : Auslander & Thomas-Intellectual Property Law Since 1909 My son started a company called All Transmissions and More about a year ago. He received a letter from the attorney for All Transmission Repair Co. stating that they were infringing on there business name and threatening legal action if he did not ceae doing business under a name similar to theirs Both businesses do Transmission repair work but my son's business as the name infers does other repairs. Do they have a legal ground to compel my son to change the name of his business. A Fragapane
