: : Dear Val,
: I would just like to know how to go about copyrighting a single poem in preparation for an upcoming convention. But in the near future i am aspiring to have my book published. So when you say to watch out for your agreement with he publisher, what exactly should i look for?And one final question i have,if it isn't to much to ask,is there any advice that you could offer me on how to go about getting published?Keeping in mind that I am not even the slightest bit interested in using a literary agent because i am confident that what i have so far is in the 1% of literature that has the potential to get my foot in the door without one?Thank you for your time.

Dear William,
Use a UCC copyright notice on what you show. Register the copyright promptly. If there is a literary contract is should be gone over to make sure your rights are protected.
