Books written by professors[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Warren M. Call on May 14, 2003 at 23:43:13: This sounds fishy but... I have a professor who has required three of his own books for the class I am taking. To make things easier, he has sent all the books over email so that we don't have to buy them ourselves. However, he has told us that he will not email the books until we pay him $60.00. He says this is because his publisher owns the copyright. I don't like the idea of paying him $60.00 (in cash to him personally)for emails and it seems that he could just give us the emails for free if he wanted to. The books are all co-written with another professor, does this have anything to do with it? I don't question his ability to charge us if he so desires, but I don't like him saying it is becaus of the publisher if that is not actuall the case. Thanks,
