His artwork should fall under Public Domain correct? Someone told me that the museums that owned the works held the copyrights, but that just doesnt make sense to me since there were no copyright registered at the time it was created. I understand that actual prints can be copyrighted, like actual photographs can be. But would his actual work be public domain? I had heard that just about everything done before 1923 falls under PD. Please help me out. Thank you, J
