Dear Mr. Scott, It many take many months to get the certificate of registration. The Official Fee for a copyright appllication is $30. The name of the act is a service mark. It ought to be searched for registerability so that you know it is registerable before you adopt it. This also avoid the risk of infringing another's use. It takes about nine months to get the Copyright Registration. If there is up front infringement a rush registration can be gotten. The Government fee for that is about $550. It takes about a year and a half to get a trademark or service mark registration usually. There are rules and expenses for rushing them. M. Arthur Auslander
