Dear Ms. Ortiz,
The copyright law covers what you do. Registration enables enforcement. The law covers the mode of expression, not the idea of the book.
The tough part will be find the agent or publisher.
Understand, if the publisher or agent like the subjectmatter of the book they can have others write on the same subjectmatter without owing you anything unless you are protected by a written agreement.
