: : : On a completely different subject....
: : : I have a video game concept that I think is original and has the potential to make quite a bit of money and I would like to try to sell it to a larger gaming company that I think could put the dollars into it to make it a reality. I also have the means to present this game in front of some fairly high end gaming companies and have them openly listen to my ideas.
: : : My question is obvious.....these companies are always looking for new game ideas to make money off of and better themselves so it behooves them to listen to me. However, once I have presented them the idea (which I would most likely have to go into some detail for to get their attention), how do I stop them from simply saying they weren't interested in buying it only to see them make the very same game in three years? How do I protect my idea and still present it to them to gain interest?
: : : Thanks,

: Thanks for the advice.....
: I know how hard it is for someone to actually take a look....I have done quite a bit of research on this....but I do have several parties interested all the same. Let's face it there are literally hundreds of thousands of ideas that get presented to the gaming industry every year, so I am sure that my first idea will get taken, warped, and wrapped up in a nice commercial package so it can make substantial amounts of money. Most likely the end product won't even be close to the one I conceptualized......but that’s an expectable loss for getting my foot in the door in the industry.
: I guess there is no real way of protecting my idea then……It’s either I tick them off with a preagreement or I take my chances and hope they don’t rip me off. Too bad.
