: Like citing an author and publication as a source for an article on a particular subject, can you do the same thing with illustrations? : I want to use a copywritten publication's graphic illustration ideas to get a similar point across in an article. Is is ok to have another illustrator produce artwork that resembles existing copywritten artwork as long as you fully reference the souce of the original illustrator's work?
