: Hello, : we re developping a video and will approach sponsors to finance its production. : to be protected, the work has to be fixed on a tangible form of expression. : As the video is not produced yet and won't be in its definitive version before we know how many sponsors we get, how can we protect ? Is a business/marketing plan enough ? Is a first shoot necessary ? : thanks : Sam Dear Sam, It is very tough. Ideas are not protectable. The idea in a copyrighted work is not protected, only the mode of expression. Confidentiality agreements may give some protection. They have to be properly drafted and then get the people to sign. M.
