: : How do i copywrite a band name that has not yet been formed, but the basic idea has.
: : do i have to copywrite my lyrics and the music that goes along with them together?
: : where can i pick up cheap legal advice on other copywritting infringements that may occur?
Dear Ms. Zobrosky,
Cheap legal advise sounds dangerous. Good legal advice requires an experiences professional. If you get cheap enough advice it could cost you down the line. There can be inexpensive legal advice but you still need a qualified professional Intellectual Property Lawyer. That is why we have a Reality Check®.
A band name may be protected by a Service Mark. If you have gigs out of your state or expect to, after searching you can file a Federal Trademark Application or proposed us application. Copyrights are a whole nuther ballgame.
