If YOU (and/or the other band members) are the author(s) and owner (claimant) of your original musical compositions (words and lyrics on paper) OR the music as contained in a SOUND RECORDING, you can register them in one application ($229) as a collection (compilation). You can apply now at our website www.mybrandsonline.com and you must also mail us copies of your DEPOSIT MATERIAL (e.g., musical compositions on paper or sound recordings on CD, etc). We need 3 copies (if published) or 2 copies (if unpublished). You and he may also need to: 1) create a jacket or sleeve (or other written list) that contains the TITLE of the Demo CD, Collection or Box Set (or other title of the compilation) –e.g., "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, "The Wall" by Pink Floyd, (words and music by Rogers/Gilmour) "untitled" (the White Album) by the Beatles. (Sound Recording by the Beatles - Words and Music by Lennon/McCartney) and 2) create a table of contents that lists each of your songs and the dates and Country where you recorded them; and 3) identify any songs with unique issues (e.g., "cover tunes", "sampling" or DERIVATIVE WORKS (containing material on an earlier song, lyrics or melody). Our attorneys can also help to protect your band name and other unique and creative aspects of your imagination. Song lyrics, musical compositions, sound recordings and other original works may be protected under copyright law - but BAND NAMES and COMMON SURNAME APPELLATIONS (e.g., SMITH or JONES) cannot. COPYRIGHT - We can prepare applications for copyright registration for your music, (songs, words, lyrics, compositions, sound recordings, music videos, CDs, etc.) In addition, any original album cover art, website materials, stage props or other unique designs may also be registered. (Even your website contents).
