: : : I had imported some roller shoes this past year, Skechers are sueing me for trade dress and copyright infringment, I cannot afford an attourney and am looking for some advice, they have given me 20 days to repond to the summons. I have not sold any to stores, just been selling them online, as a part time business.

: : Dear Paul,
: : If you go to the court and ask the clerk, he may help you. It does not look as if you are in big danger even if you are infringing. They may get a judgment against you but if you appear before a judge without a lawyer, unless you are doing something purposeful, you ought to get a lot of sympathy, if you are ready to stop.

: Dear Authur, I was hoping you would respond, I see you are very well respected here. In my case I think Skecthers has not done there home work very well, due to the fact I only have a web site and run it part time from home, I can't imagine what they expect to achieve, but my shoes are different, similar yes, but to a consumer the difference obvious.
