: Hi

: I'm from Puerto Rico and there's this musical genre called "reggeaton". They have been using samples for a while. They are not derivate works. They are not shorter than 15 sec. They almost sound exactly like the original instrumental apart from a drum loop and a guy rapping like a jamaican "dancehall artist".

: What can I really do? Send recorded tapes to the artist's label? I'm not sure if I can do anything.
: I would really like to know.

: Thank You

Dear Jay Cruz,
It is not clear what you want to do. You want to make a tape of what you do and see if a recording company likes your work?

The tough part is to find someone that will even listen.
