: I READ HERE THAT A NAME OF A BUSINESS CAN BE PROTECTED AS A SERVICE MARK IF THERE ISN'T ANY CONFLICTS, HOW DO I DO THAT, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE IT GOES INTO EFFECT, AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? PLEASE ANSWER ASAP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Dear B. Moore,
The proceedure is relatively inexpensive, particularly since trademarks and service marks are forever as long as they are in use. I've got a trademarked cologne I use with a 200 year old trademark. Think Coca Cola.
