: : I need to copywright a book that I wrote so that I can continue work towards self publishing. One usually does not need an umpublished copyright. If you are publishing yourself, I hope you are careful. There are vanity publisher that can hold out great promises and actually publish. Once done where are the books going to be sold? I believe that most vanity publishers should help you with at least putting a proper copyright notice in the book. If you are taking care of all the detail and have your market, just make sure there is a proper copyright notice in the book. You can live without it but can't enforce the copyright without actual notice. A "c" in a circle properly used gets intnational protection. M.
