Who is the actual person who should be considered as the author? Dear V. M. Heller, As I understand what you say, there must be a programmer or user that uses the software to create the work. The user creates the new work using the program, the the user creating the new program is the author. The big catch may be that the newly created program is dependant on the master program, thus there is a new author, but that author may be dependant on the program owned by another. M.
