Usage of music in a privately screened video

I've been asked to do a video for a company and they want to use clips of several commercial songs for a video. Because of the private nature of the screening, a legal counselor assures that it's okay, as long as the video is not distributed, sold, or publicly displayed. However, as the videographer who is profiting from the creation of the video, am I liable for infringement of copyright? It seems to be a circumstance where I am profiting from the creation of a video, and not profiting from the usage of the songs.
Thank you for any response. If links to resources that answer this question are available, please list them as well, so I have a record. If this question should be directed to a lawyer, links/info would be appreciated as well.
