For my employer, I commission an illustrator to create a cartoon image of a knight on the back of a buffalo, to incorporate into a logo going onto the uniforms and office letterheads for a non-profit little league football team. : After receiving the artist's work, I photographed the image on my scanner and made the following changes using Adobe Photoshop: : -- deleted the light orange and black polka dot shading on the knight's cape (about 1/3 the size of the illustration) and filled with a solid, darker orange : After making these changes, would I get the copywright, or would the illustrator? : Please email response. Dear Graphic Designer, Why should I email you a response. I do not get paid for what I do her, I'm just saying what I think. I think that you are deeply on the edge of trouble if the artist is aware if his (or her) rights. There are things that you can do to safely acheive your objectives. You are not going to get that without fee. M. Arthur Auslander Auslander & Thomas-Intellectual Property Law Since 1909
